The 3rd UTOPIAE Training School took place on 2-6 Sept 2019, at Technische Hochschule Köln (TH Köln) in Gummersbach, Germany.
The Network Training Schools are designed to ensure a common background knowledge among ESRs, and to bring everyone up to speed with the state-of-the-art in all the underpinning technical areas. This Training School, TS-III, focused on WP3, looking at topics on Optimisation under Uncertainty, bridging techniques from both fields. Specifically, the technical programme included topics on Optimisation Under Uncertainty, Worst-case Scenario and Multi-level Optimisation, Hybrid Many-Objective Optimisation of Large Scale Expensive, Evidence-Based Robust Optimisation and Decision Making, Reliability-based Design Optimisation, Evolvable Optimisation Under Uncertainty.
In addition to the technical programme, a site visit to the DLR site in Cologne was scheduled for Thurs 5 Sept 2019 at 14:00.
